I have an Acer Predator G9-593 running Windows 10 Home that is stuck during bootup, after a clean reinstall from a thumb drive. This all started a few months ago with a system update that gave the usual "Do not turn off your machine" message, and then sat there for two days.
I got into advanced options on reboot, but it didn't recognize my password or PIN, even after resetting it on the MS website, so I had to nuke it. I managed to reinstall windows via the thumb drive, but it crashed again when it got to the privacy options!
Took it into Geek Squad and they've had it over the weekend. They say all the hardware tests passed ok, but it keeps crashing/rebooting on them, too, when they try to install Windows. They're telling me they think the computer has reached the end of it's life and I should buy a new one, as this one will keep getting bricked every time there's a new Windows update.
This seems completely outrageous to me. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you.
