type the snid or chose the model no
go to drivers  - chose the driver and install it.

Download the driver - click on open or  save  - extract it -

The exact unit number is Nitro AN517-51 and the driver I am trying to install is the Audio Driver. I have extracted it but there is no 'setup' file only an Install and install package files. The Install package file does seem to run but I get an error saying Adding The Driver Package failed. Invalid INF passed as parameter. There is also a WavesSysSvc64  file which apears to be an application but again this doesnt seem to do anything.

The audio codec for your AN517-51 is the Codec: Realtek ALC255 and as you have downloaded the Acer official driver and it’s not working for you ? as this "WavesSvc64" file should work as its an executable file otherwise, you can go straight to here Realtek’s official download page and get the latest driver for your AN517-51 from there which is the version R2.82 dated 2017/07/26 and its 258 MB.

Or and otherwise download this executable file for the ALC255 the “Realtek drivers v6.0.1.8186 (or version 2.82) and for Windows 10 64bit” and install this file which should work 100%, btw this file is the win7_win8_win81_win10_r282.exe which is a Realtek® High Definition Audio Function Driver as all these drivers should work and install without any problems. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Any idea why WavesSysSvc64 app wont run? I downloaded a better zip program and re downloaded the file now it won't even open. something might be wrong on acers system as the other downloads work
