No Boot Device - Acer Aspire E5-522

Hi,

After changing HDD to SSD in Acer Aspire E5-522 and installing windows, SSD is no more detected by BIOS (No boot Device error, as well in BIOS SSD is not visible).
I've checked if SSD was not damaged, but other PCs detects drive correctly. If i insert original HDD, system also boots correctly.
What i've tried:
- Update BIOS and restore to defaults -> worked only till i shut down laptop, then again 'No boot device' error show up
- Take SSD out, restore bios settings to default, put SSD -> 'No Boot Device'
- Formatting SSD and inserting it in to laptop -> works but after installing windows and shutting down: 'No Boot Device'

It's really strange error, after installing windows system works correctly, you can hibernate or restart system, but if you shut it down, BIOS does not detect SSD anymore.

Anyone had similar problem?
Thanks for help.

Please post a phone photo of the BIOS INFORMATION tab if possible. Not BOOT tab.

    Hi @Armg,

If SSD is not detecting in BIOS then it will be a hardware issue.

    Contact acer tech support,

    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact

OR book the unit for repair service,

The best and first thing to do is a clone of your old HDD (that works in your E5-522) to your new 2.5" SSD (btw, if your new SSD is a Samsung 2.5" SSD use their excellent Data Migration software that is made for their drives, if you have another type 2.5" SSD drive install Macrium Reflect v7 and clone your old HDD with that) as whatever and why your new 2.5" SSD doesn't work could be a formatting or BIOS setting issue and/or your 2.5" SSD is faulty, which is highly unlikely.
