Im trying to plug my Nintendo Switch into my monitor using HDMI, which works, but I get no audio output. Can anyone help to understand why? Do i need an extra audio cable or something to use the onboard monitor speakers? Cheers

@Easwar hey I'm not really sure what you mean, a different media player as in a different device?

If so my PC can play through the speakers fine, granted that's through display port

No, Not in different device. Play a music file on your device by players like VCL,Windows media player like that. And check is there any audio comming out of the speakers.

There is a chance that the Nintendo Switch doesn't output audio over the HDMI port, or that the cable you are using doesn't have the audio hooked up. Try a different cable first, then investigate whether the Switch supports HDMI audio.
