Hi, sorry for my English. I have an X9DRW-3LN4F+-AI034 from an Acer server. It now has an "Acer-only" BIOS on it, but this BIOS is too old to support V2 CPU. I can't find a newer Acer BIOS for this board(i don't know if there is any), can i use the Supermicro one? Many thanks!

I recommend you not to update the bios on your own.   You have to do this with the guidance of a good technician..    Sometimes after updating the bios on your computer you will not be able to boot up the computer.   It is done only for a known issue or for a newer release of bios..   If the computer is already working fine then updating the bios should be done with extra caution.

If your computer is in warranty you can contact the warranty dept.     Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  click on "contact support".  Scroll down.  You can find the phone no to contact the warranty dept.

If it is out of warranty, please contact local store or

Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  Click on  "Repair My Acer" - Request to have your Acer product repaired.   There will be charges for repair.

William_mk2, Many thanks for your reply! It's sort of solved. I contacted the pervious owner of this server and got the model number(AR380 F2), with which i found newer BIOS on Acer website. Before i could only search with the model of the motherboard and found nothing related. Since without newer BIOS the board wouldn't support V2 CPU so i must give a try i guess :D I'm aware of the risks, thank you for your tips!

Yeah, the risk would be pretty high that you just brick things if you tried to flash a different BIOS. Usually though the BIOS update software will just block it instead...
