Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53 Two different HD audio background processes running

Hi all,

I have bad memory so I'm not sure if this was normal initially but I just noticed it now. My sound is working perfectly fine but I'd like to know if it's necessary for both of these to be in startup:

What is the difference between these two processes and why are they needed? I believe Dolby audio is the only one I really need but I'm not sure. My drivers should NOT be updated as I have the latest that is stable for my laptop since updating it to a newer version in the past has made recording very quiet.

Just FYI this is on a clean installed SSD NVMe, didn't touch anything with sound drivers.

The main difference is one is ASC and the other is Dolby. I don't know what ASC is for.

ASC could also be another form of transmitting Audio (another type of compression)

Dolby is a way of transmitting Audio (type of compression)
I think ASC is Auto Sound Calibration but I’m not sure.
So in your case, Realtek ASC is Calibrating your speakers (stereo, 2.1,5.1 etc) and Dolby is how the sound is transmitted.
I could be wrong however.
