Hi! I just bought a new Acer Predator Tritron 300 SE ( PT314-51S) laptop. It's working ok, but when i turn off (turn off using turn off button) the laptop the battery will be flat when I try to turn it on the next day. For me this renders the laptop nearly useless.

I've scoured the internet for tips and what I've tried so far:

Updated BIOS from version 1.03 to 1.08

Disable CsEnable - It's not available to change by default and none of the methods I've tried to get it back has worked... Do i really have to roll back Windows 10 version?

Since I can't attach files here are some lines from running "powercfg /batteryreport"

Is this an Acer problem or a Windows problem, or is my PC faulty and I should ask for a new one?

@Wubster care center its completely useless do not use it neither rely on it the only thing its good for its to check your serial/snid/model nothing else not even updates work because acer doesnt update drivers for any models  they just test the most stable ones and they are the stock forever so some device is draining  your battery its just a question of finding out which also dont use hibernate or sleep i would recommend to disable it as stated above by @egydiocoelho windows is and always was bugged when it comes to hibernate/sleep since win xp it was never properly fixed especially on laptops as on desktops its irrelevant  :)

I don't have  "CoolBoost" or "Botao de energia" options in my Quick Access. The other 2 I can't see how can help me.

@Wubster do u leave any devices connected to the laptop while off as one of the usb ports its setup to always power on when off anything connected to that will be using power its setup to keep charging devices even when off but can be disabled via quick access as its shown above or in the bios in some cases so also  check your bios settings also check your battery wear with hwinfo or battery bar pro etc :)

@xapim : I don't know if it has been like that every time I've tried different experiments but I see that I have a USB dongle for my wireless mouse in the USB charge while off USB port.... Thanks for the tip, will run another test with USB charge while off disabled and see what comes of it :)

@xapim : I tried turning off USB charge while off and unplugged everything from the PC and the battery is still being drained. Turned off the PC and it lost 10% of power in less than 2 hours.

    Hi Wubster,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

Loosing about 5/10% its normal it always does that when booting up the OS on battery only also windows doesnt report the battery accurately as i stated get battery bar pro if u wat accurate readings i thought you were talking about really discharging  also have u checked your battery wear as i advised

@Easwar : It says the drivers are up to date

@xapim : The battery level is now down to 45% while being turned off, and tomorrow the PC will be completely dead and I will have to plug in the charger to turn the PC on, so yes it is a battery drain problem. I have checked the BIOS and cannot find any settings which I think will affect the battery drain. I checked both HWInfo and HwMonitor and both report 0.0% battery wear which I hoped since the PC is only 1 week old :P

Again as i already said above multiple times check your battery wear as it might even be a faulty battery

I also checked battery health in Acer Care Center, it says all is good. If there are any more ways to check this, I am all ears.
  • Can you upload a screenshot of acer quick access? Does the same issue occur when disabling fast startup in power options? Are you sure windows is shutting down the laptop and not suspending or hibernating? What is the bios version?

@xapim , @egydiocoelho : After trying out everything you said and more, I asked to have the PC replaced, and the new one works perfectly. Seems it might have been a hardware issue, even if no faults were detected in the tests I ran. Thank you a lot for trying to help me
