Hi, I've an Acer Aspire 3 series laptop with model number N17Q3. I want to upgrade my RAM. Could you please tell me the compatible RAM for this laptop. And also if somebody could give me a maintenance and service guide, it'll be very helpful for me.

You can safely add up to 8GB DDR4 sodimm 2400MHz or faster for a total of 12GB RAM. However, due to production mainboard changes, you might be able to add up to 16GB DDR4 for a total 20GB but not guaranteed. You can run crucial.com scanner on your machine to see what is recommended. Crucial mostly sells top of the line Micron modules at very competitive prices relative to budget brands. Only a generic maintenance users guide and a safety guide are currently available. A service guide is currently unavailable but may eventually show up on manualslib dot com.

Thanks JackE for your valuable information. However, the laptop's RAM is running in 800Mhz frequency. That's why I got confused as to what RAM to choose

You should have a 1200MHz mainboard RAM bus or 2400MHz for double date rate modules. Where did you get 800MHz from?

@JackE in the task manager "Performance" tab, the speed is showing as 800MHz.

Please post screenshot of what you're looking at in the Performance tab Memory folder if possible.
