Hello

One or two years passed, I finally got my first ever gaming computer, the Nitro 5. I have been playing with it now for like a few months and I noticed there's some issues. I don't think it performs as strong as it should. I've watched benchmarks in youtube and seeing how it compares to my laptop's FPS. Even a GT 1030 + i5 combo in CS:GO seems to have a little bit better performance than my laptop. Of course, it's probably cause it was ran on a desktop. Desktops are known for their performance and laptops for their productivity. Can I maybe like, increase performance somehow? I've optimized Windows 10, overclocked GPU via Afterburner, disables high precision timer, I just wanna know if there's any settings I'm missing what could improve performance?

Also another question, I checked my RAM maximum speed in command prompt by simply entering this line of command: "wmic memorychip get speed" and it said 2667 MHz. I currently got 2444MHz installed. Does it mean I can just simply upgrade to 2666MHz without any issues? Also does the pin amount matter on SODIMM RAM sticks? Sorry if this is a stupid question..

My specs are GTX 1650, Ryzen 5 3550H with AMD Radeon Vega 8 , 8GB DDR4 2444MHz RAM. Thanks.

Yes you can upgrade to the DDR4-2666MHz even though the recommended (as shown above by Balatekie) is DDR4-2400MHz, btw, I've done this with many laptops as there are other alternatives to what manufacturers recommend in their specs e.g. I've got an Aspire V3-571G that its max total memory capacity is 8GB into its 2x slots is recommended at DDR3-1600MHz and I've upgraded it to 16GB (2x 8Gb into its 2x slots) at DDR3L-1866MHz and it works perfectly, I've also checked the memory speed at command "wmic memory chip get speed" and it states and gives me a "Speed of 1777/1777 on both slots".

So and if you want the full memory performance of this laptop then upgrade to a setup of 2x 16GB DDR4-2666Mhz into your AN515-43-R3WG 2x slots. Also and if you are running an M.2 boot drive SSD at PCIe Gen.3x2 8Gbits/sec then activate the TRIM command within windows so that your SSD drive perform to its ultimate performance as that will also assist your performance. Also make sure that Win-10 is up to date and that your graphics driver is up to date. As an alternative, you can also check your laptops exact and best upgrade(s) by going to the Crucial memory site and run the "Start your scan" for the best component upgrades for your AN515-43-R3WG RAM and SSD upgrades.

Note: Crucial states the following as far as suggesting and recommending none specified memory and capacities and its as follows, you may have noticed that when you check the maximum amount of supported memory for your system, that we recommend more than your system or motherboard manufacturer has listed on their technical specification. The good news is that this is not a mistake! On occasion you will find that due to system updates and technological advances, some hardware may be able to support more memory compared to when it was originally manufactured. At Crucial®, we ensure that the higher amount of RAM is rigorously tested and is backed by our compatibility guarantee.
