Hello All,

I have an acer aspire e5-551G. I want to get another hdd and put that into a "hdd caddy". Replace my DVD with the hdd caddy and boot it to another OS from the caddy. Is this possible?

You should be able to. But you may or may not have to temporarily disconnect the HDD depending on the OS you plan to install. This is because some OS installations may not be able to handle dual boot from two separate EFI partitions as most are set up to dual boot from a single EFI partition using  a loader like grubx64.. If you intend to install Linux, I suggest LinuxMint has one of the most polished installations and probably can dual boot just fine this way thru its custom installation options.
