Back in those days, we have recovery disks that are able to reset our laptop to factory defaults.
Now that I want to install a new ssd and make it my boot drive, hence i need to reinstall windows.

However, wouldnt that mean after reinstalling windows on ssd, i would lose the ability to restore computer back to factory default?

Need clarifcation.

* I am having Acer Aspire 5 A515-52G

    Looz that is not true as you don't need a "Recovery Disk" to reinstate your working OS onto a new SSD, as you can completely clone your existing Win-10 OS onto an SSD from whatever windows version you have and that is that you would be able to restore and do everything that you can do with a clean install of windows onto the cloned OS. Btw and which I use, the Samsung SSD's have a great software called "Data Migration" that is an excellent and a very easy cloning software as I've used this software many time without any problems and/or mishaps, otherwise and with other SSD's the new Macrium Reflect v8 or v7 is also an excellent cloning software that you can use.

    To clone only system to SSD, you may try Partition Wizard to migrate OS from HDD to SSD, or choose the system partition to clone.

    Actually for my case, I splited my HDD into several partitions, and I dont really wish to clone the whole HDD over to SDD because some of the partitions that were created additionally only contains my personal files instead of system files.

    Im wondering if it is ok if I just clone all other partitions(system, recovery, boot partitions) onto the SSD and expect it to work? Or is it safer to just clone everything?

    Thanks for the replies, I will give it a try on cloning only the system partitions
