Hi,
2 years ago I was lucky enough to buy an Acer monitor. After a few days of use I started to notice strange flickering when using the monitor for a long time.
This is how the defect looks like
At first I could not understand anything. The defect may not appear at all for weeks. Especially if you do not use the monitor too much (an hour or two a day) and reduce the brightness. And by the nature of the artifacts you can think that it is a problem with the OS, the PC hardware or the cable. Started checking the whole thing. The same thing happens with HDMI instead of the complete DP. Tested at 120Hz. With overdrives and FreeSync turned off.
I handed it in to an authorized service center. I have been with them for a month. No use.
I managed to take pictures. I took pictures on the PC a year ago. Now checked on the console to rule out a malfunction in my configuration (although already changed completely in a year, and the defect remained).
Here are my videos form PS5:
There were more cases of the defect that day. Flickered 5 times in an hour or so. But I didn't record everything. There are more complete uncut videos. You can see the console interface there.
From PC:
I had no problem shooting the whole thing. Took pictures when I used it - caught it and cropped it. And the service department didn't find anything in a month. One year old videos, by the way, threw. I described the situation personally. They contacted me.
I contacted the Service Center. Found out their testing methodology. They just turned it on, ran some content and put it in the background. That is, the description of the fault was "flickering once an hour or less". And they decided to look at it occasionally. Needless to say, what are the chances in principle, that you look at the monitor at this exact time interval!
Took it to the service center for another month. But probably to no avail. What else can be done in this situation? I would be grateful for any advice.
