hi , i was wondering if samsung 970evo plus will work on my system with these sepcs
gtx 1050m
i7 8750h
came with and hdd , and intel optane 14gb
and someone answered that and said yes
but in hwinfo it shows that my other pcie that has the optane installed in only has 1x lane but the 970 evo plus needs x4?
so if it will work hopefully , will it be running at a decreased speed or what im kinda confused  here, thanks.

Hey ZD, hold everything =) looking at the specs again of the drives and the Service Guide's documentation of the internals your AN515-52 M.2 drive plug has provisions for both B&M key type M.2 SSD and the M end key type M.2 SSD (as both are recommended by Acer for the AN515-52) so you should be able to fit the Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe sorry =) my mistake to hassel you around as I didn't read the full specs as Acer also includes for your AN515-52 the INTEL SSDPEKKW512G7 which is a 512 GB M.2 80mm PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 drive.

    INTEL SSDPEKKW512G7 which is a 512 GB M.2 80mm PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 drive.

zd the answer is "NO" the Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe is not a drive that fits or is suitable for your AN515-52 (as its an M end key type M.2) and the AN515-52 takes the M.2 B&M end key type M.2 drive that are a SATA-3 6GB/sec. type drive which also applies to the 2.5" drives suitable for your AN515-52 also, this is for either a spinner HDD or a 2.5" SDD drive!

The suggested Acer M.2 drive for your AN515-52 is the MICRON MTFDDAV512TBN1AR1ZABYY which is a 512GB M.2 drive or similar, you can also put a similar drive from Samsung like the model Samsung MZNLN512HCJH-000H1 if you want to use a Samsung drive? Also and with all SSD drives activate the TRIM command within windows so that these drives work to their peak performance and keep their durability.

Note: capacities of these 2.5" and M.2 drives are only restricted by either the MBR formatting rules for Windows OS's which is a max of 2TB or the GUID Partition Table (GPT) formatting which is above 2TB capacities.

That info above is WRONG and very MISLEADING (that is why I suggested to you the M.2 B&M end key type SATA-3 6GB/sec drive only as I've given you the photo of) because that guide that you saw on FakeTube and that he fitted an NVMe card might be correct because the NVMe card fits into the M.2 slot (but its not intended for your laptop) as you will never ever get the full benefits of the NVMe's M.2 card, its a waste of your money and it will never ever perform better as it will make your system perform worse than with an M.2 B&M end key type SATA-3 6GB/sec card that is designed for your laptop!

Cancel the order and/or send it back when you get it and replace it with the correct M.2 card as its a waste of your money as your laptop will never ever be able to utilise the NVMe speed. Btw, the information that I've given you is officially from Acer and specifically for your laptop from its service guide so its 100% correct.

Why are you lying the user @StevenGen? It supports NVMe PCIe 3 x4. How in the world it is possible? You have a Service Manual available and still no desire to learn? Pathfinder... this community should be more careful when accepting ACE with no basic knowledge!
That`s really enough! I am out of here!
Please click "Yes" if I have answered your question.

If you read my last post above batmalin I wasn't "LYING" like you said (which is very wrong for you to say and be so rude) as I corrected myself to ZD, it was an honest mistake, I did apologise to ZD and explained why I made that mistake as mistakes do happen batmalin (it seems like you think that you never ever make a mistake) also, ZD accepted my last post answer and was fine with it and I also stated that his laptop does accept the M.2 NVMe PCIe 3 x4 SSD and SATA SSD drives. You are just making a drama out of nothing, get over it batmalin and stop being rude as being nice and kind is a much better attitude! Just remember we are all here to help with all good intentions! Get over it batmalin! Btw and this comment from you "this community should be more careful when accepting ACE with no basic knowledge!" which is a completely wrong and obnoxious comment from you and proves what you are like.
