Travelmate B116 Series stuck on Acer boot screen.

Hi.
Recently I did a netflix party on my laptop and accidentally left it going, my laptop turned off during the night. When I turned it on thw following morning, google chrome had crashed so I restarted my laptop like normal, but now it is stuck on the 'Acer explore behind limits' with no loading icon. I don't have anything particularly important on the laptop apart from old schoolwork that isn't important anymore, so if resetting the laptop is one of the ways I can fix my problem, I am happy to.

Try these steps first "Parisnzlcallaghan". The first and easiest method is to boot to the Troubleshoot Menu and restore your OS to a Restore Point, to do this, turn off your PC and then turn on your PC and tap the F11 key and make sure you tap it repeatedly and that you start doing so right away. If your system tends to boot quickly, you might have to make a few attempts at booting to the troubleshoot menu. In the event that the F11 key doesn’t work, try the F8 or Shift+F8. It may or may not work but it’s worth trying if the F11 key doesn’t.

Then go into "System Restore" and choose the last restore point that you have and reboot the laptop.

Otherwise and if that doesn't work you have to use the Installation media i.e. a USB that you can use to install Windows 10 that can also be used to fix problems with Windows 10. The trick is getting your hands on installation media when you’re unable to boot to your desktop. You will need to use another system but once you have access to one, creating installation media is easy. You can download it from Microsoft’s website for free. There’s no need to enter a license key.

Force shut down on start - if all else fails, this method will work. Turn on your system and before it can boot to the desktop, force shut it down by holding down the power button. Repeat this at least 3-5 times and eventually, you will get the Troubleshoot menu. This method should not have any side effects nor should it damage files on your system.

What ended up working was pressing ALT + F10

different travel mate-models probably have different buttons for the system restore.
F12 brought up bios for a reinstall but did not display any usb or connect for a reinstall via server

F2 brings up bios and allows you to enable usb boot and to select the boot priority

( Another alternative is holding ctrl + alt+ delete when booting to go into safe mode and then restarting back into normal mode , for others having the same issue.)
