I am using my Predator Helios 300 from last 1.5 years but now it started having trouble. It just shuts down randomly in Between my usage. It works fine for 15-20 minutes and then completely goes off without warning. The temperature are normal. The usage is also very minimal as I'm using only browser. When I turn it back on the keyboard and power lights turns on and off several times and then it turns on. Please help me with the possible reason for this.

unplug the power cable and turn off the unit and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. See whether u have the same issue again if yes, with the help of any local tech remove the ram from the laptop and wait for 5 minutes and put the RAM back in.

I tried holding for 30 seconds and turning it back on but the problem still occurred. Okay I'll get RAM removed and reinstalled. But can you tell me is this is the problem because of my ram is corrupted or something ?

    Hi KaushikGautam,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

Hi @Easwar I followed your steps and did it. But after 10 minutes of usage the unit turned off again automatically without any warning. This trouble shoot didn't worked for the problem.

@KaushikGautam just shuts down or you have any bsod check you event viewer windows logs system see whats crashing there also i would probably perform a stock recovery clean install backup whatever you need and ALT+F10 delete everything option assuming  you still have your recovery partition intact to completely rule out any software issues good luck :)

@KaushikGautam to start with you dont have enough ram you need minimum 16gb dual channel these days to run any games without crashes so i would advise you to forget the stock ram and get a dual channel set 2x8gb  either hyperx or vengeance 2666mhz secondly you need to upgrade your ssd to a larger one 128gb its not enough either you will be running out of virtual memory really fast i suggest you get at least 500gb ssd or even 1tb/2tb thats up to you i would recommend wdblue 3d nand if you only use it for gaming but if you use it for content creation and rendering get a nvme instead i ran into similar issues with my G3-572 out of the box after i had upgraded everything optimized windows/undervolted and repasted with kryonaut 2 weeks after i got it never had a single issue since then my temps went down 25+ and still the same today this was in 2018 working perfect till now good luck :)

Okay thank you for giving your time to write this. The problem is it's even shutting down with minimal usage like browser only and also it all empty and I don't have any data or other apps to put a load on it. It should work at least for browser I guess

Well i guess youre out of warranty by now as i stated above backup whatever u need and perform a stock recovery clean install to rule out any software issues if the issue persists after that i would say its hardware related good luck :)

This is not an answer. I know this is an old thread, but when I googled about this issue, I was directed to this page. I am also having exactly same issue. After 15-20 mins, my laptop turn off abruptly without giving any warning or message. Then it won't start immediately. Sometimes when I press power button, keyboard backlight brightens and then turn off. I got my laptop serviced thrice. 2 times from local vendors and 1 time from Acer Authorised service center but still the problem persist. Service center guy told that it is due to Mother board issue and it needs to be replaced. As the laptop is outside warranty, motherboard is very costly, even more than original cost of laptop. Did anyone have this issue fixed?
