Acer Predator helios 300 (2000) fan needlessly working

hey recently I noticed my helios computer turns on the fans on 3k+ even when I don't do anything intensive (basically just browsing).

My temperatures aren't event high:

  • cpu 47

  • gpu 40

  • system 43

the fans on auto (or even manual) will be on:

  • cpu 3200 rpm

  • gpu 3750 rpm

also it seems Im unable to lower the custom fan speed only increase it. if I set the custom fan speed low, its just gets ignored

is this something I need to worry about/try to fix?

    Hi @hayke102

You can try to do a BIOS reset.

How do I reset my BIOS/UEFI to default settings?
    1. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, or until your system shuts completely down.
    2. Power on the system. Keep on tapping the F2 button continuously to get into the BIOS.
    3. Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
    4. Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit.
If it still doesn't work then you can try to reset the laptop to check if that makes any difference.

Check the above link for the reset process.

NOTE: Make sure to backup all the data before the reset.

Hope it will help you in some way.
