I was about to change my nitro 5's thermal paste since it was always heating up but one of the cpu heatsink screw was stripped so i removed it with pliers and accidentally scratched my mobo near the screw hole.

Hoping that I didn't damage something important i tried to boot. It was just a black screen upon powering on
I already tried reseating my ram. Resetting the battery and resetting the bios by removing the cmos battery. But still

Black screen, keyboard and power leds are on. Fans spin for a sec but stops and i feel that the hdd doesn't spin to. I also tried an external monitor but to no avail.

  • What is the exact model? Example an515-54-58vh. Did you disconnect the battery before performing the procedure? Can you send a photo of where the motherboard was scratched?

    Hi @Zydrck
check if there is a pin 📌hole at the bottom of the unit. Put a small pin inside and press and hold the pin for 30sec.  If there is no pin hole then press the power button for 12sec. Remember to remove your charger when you do that.

    Hi Zydrck,

Are you getting any light indication when charger is connected.
