Acer Aspire A515 - 54G - Too much contrast/gamma.

I've recently received my new laptop 2 days ago I've purchased from Amazon last week and so far so good, it's almost perfect as much as I would expect. However, my only concerning issue I have with it is the screen color brightness. I have absolutely no issues with the general brightness settings on this model. I can easily turn it up to the max without any issue and it will display as bright as possible to being able to see. Despite this, I have an issue with the screen being too straining on my eyes to look at. It looks to me that light colors (especially white) have way too much contrast/gamma all around on my screen. even darker colors look way too "bright" in a sort of sense and I have tried to sort around the settings to fix this problem but to my avail, I haven't had much luck. Below are some screen examples of what I'm talking about.

The only way I can seem to compromise this is by turning my brightness down as I can for my eyes but even then the "whiteness" looks way too bright on my screen. I don't know if it's just me but this issue makes it difficult to read out small text all around. As I said, I don't think the brightness setting is the issue but really the contrast/gamma on white and lighter colors looks too "white and bright" for me. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this problem?

For the sensitive eyes among us, there are some freeware tools to try that may give you  more flexibility --- and more confusing options to choose from --- than the Intel and nvidia control panels can offer. You're dealing with a very subjective personal-preference matter that can only be addressed by you to your own satisfaction. Google your own keywords 'contrast' 'gamma' along with 'freeware' for some possibilities. Please let us know how you make out using your own eyes.  :)

    Hi Blightmare,

    Is it a refurbished system.

No, I bought this laptop as "new".
