As I'm using an Acer nitro 5 an515-42 Gaming laptop. Recently I had an issue with the hinges, I thought I would give it for repair after a week because of my tight schedule. Before I giving it to repair I checked my laptop then I realize even the display has an issue. The left part of my display screen has a backlight problem. I got the hinges repaired but, What is the solution for this backlight issue should I replace the whole LCD Screen, or can the backlight can be repaired??.

I don't know what to do? Any suggestions ???

 My warranty was also expired.

This was the backlight issue on my screen? Can it get repaired or should I change the whole display part???

Turn off the computer.   Tap f2.   It will go to bios.   If the display is not looking good in bios then it is a hardware issue.

If it is a software we can always reload the drivers or reinstall the operating system..

If it is a hardware issue you need to take it to a local tech or send the laptop for repair.    They will open the laptop and check it.   It might be a simple cable issue or it might be a display issue..    Only by opening the laptop we can determine it.

If your laptop is in warranty you can contact the warranty dept.     Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  click on "contact support".  Scroll down.  You can find the phone no to contact the warranty dept.

If it is out of warranty, please contact local store or

Go to the website support.acer.com - chose your country.   On the new page - scroll down -  Click on  "Repair My Acer" - Request to have your Acer product repaired.   There will be charges for repair.

Additional info to contact Acer Store:  Please visit the website - support.acer.com - chose your country - click on shop.   You can buy desktop, laptop, monitor and accessories.  Alternatively,  on the top right corner you can find the phone no to contact Acer store.   For the parts which are not available on Acer store, you have to contact local store.

    Hi Ashwith007,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Shutdown the unit.
    2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
    3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds.
