How can I adjust CPU fan speed on PO3-630?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to adjust the cpu fan speed. I have installed a NH-U9S cpu cooler because the other stock one was complete junk. But it is only running at 30% and I would like to turn it up. I have downloaded the free trial of argus monitor and it is only letting me adjust the fan curve of my GPU. There is no option for me to adjust the curve settings for the new CPU cooler. Am I locked into this or do I need to pay for argus? I really would like some help on this.

Funny how it works with PO3-620 but not 630.

Get Y-splitter cable and do like Frank did (LINK). He's controlling his CPU fan and front fan via PS. Use FANS1 connector and leave FANC1 unplugged

    Hi there again! ^^

Maybe you can use something like this? There are about gazillion of these from which to choose from. There are smarter options out there as well, as this has only as potentiometer on it.

Not sure whether the computer will even boot up, if it notices that there's no cable on "CPU FAN" connector. In that case you could attach one of the case fans to CPU FAN controller.

Yeah I could go and look for something like this. I am not sure how knowledgeable you are with these motherboards/predator computers but am I going to be physically shut out from updating my cpu fan speeds unless i find something like this? Like is it in the acer software itself that is refusing from letting me correct the speeds and update them?

I know my way around computers pretty well. I've been building them for myself and friends for 20 some years. Acer was my very 1st pre-build ever, and only because of the heavily discounted price at the time and RTX 3070, which I transferred to my own rig. The heavily modified leftovers went to friend's kids to play with.

While I still had this little box, I wasn't too impressed with the Predator Sense. It is way too limited to my liking. If I remember correctly, it wasn't able to control CPU fan. (Not sure, but the CPU fan and the rear exhaust might be linked to the CPU temp and be controlled that way.) But since the original fans have 4 pins on them, PS should control 4 pin Noctuas as well. Maybe, and just maybe, now that your temps are lower, the fan doesn't ramp up as much as it did when things were baking?

Fan controller should give you the possibility to adjust the fan speed to your liking. Like I said, if removing the CPU fan cable from the fan connector causes problems, you can plug rear fan on it and control CPU fan with the potentiometer.

I'm very interested to see how this goes!

Ah okay so you seem to have some knowledge. Thanks again by the way for reaching out and being so helpful, I didn't get a chance to thank you yet!

But yeah I have 0 option to control cpu fan even on PS. I am not sure why, because I have seen other versions of predator sense that is able to control cpu fan. I did go to acers website and typed in my model and they had a specific download of PS for this specific machine so I am wondering if that is why I cannot control cpu. I think I mentioned as well that I tried downloading argus monitor as well and I am able to adjust and switch my gpu fans away from BIOS controlled to manual. But I am not able to adjust cpu with that. So I am also not liking the limited feeling of this.

But since you are knowledgeable let me ask you this, am I being limited due to something programmed in the motherboard itself? Like for example if I stumbled upon some extra throw away money and I were to take out the PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, literally gut the entire computer and put into another third party MOBO in a new case, I would be able to to have fill reign over the cpu fan control limitations?

AND also, if I am understanding correctly, what you are saying to do is to plug the rear fan cable into the CPU plug, and then plug the Noctua into the plug where the rear fan went? :D

    Thanks again!

I believe that the problem you are having is caused by Acer motherboard and PS. AFAIK, more expensive Predator desktops allow you to control CPU fan. Why not allow this on PO3-620 and 630? Makes no sense to me.

Sorry for being difficult to follow. If the PC has problems booting up when the CPU fan cable is plugged into a fan controller, try connecting the rear fan into the CPU fan connector on the motherboard. Let PS do whatever it and control the actual CPU fan with the aftermarket controller.

I just found out something that might interest you. So, before ordering a new mobo, case and PSU (which I did! more later if needed) take a look at this Youtube video. Looks like you can "cheat" PS to think you have a more expensive system => and suddenly you can control the CPU fan!

The BIOS has a couple of different fan tables, but they aren't exposed to us yet. The 'Smart Fan' is supposed to vary the fan speed based on CPU temperature, shooting for an optimal temperature for all uses. Turning Smart Fan off (I believe) turns off that and only uses a lookup table and also sets fan speed based on CPU temperature, but only to a few different speeds...

Ah mate I am just ***** out of luck for some reason. I did find this video the other day and followed all the steps, but my type was already set at 5 when I went to it :( I am so completely confused with my luck and simply trying to adjust a fan haha
