Possible battery issue on 2019 Predator Helios (PH315-52-75DE)

I've been frequently getting two short beeps, and Dr. Google found some content suggesting battery issues.

Ran powercfg /batteryreport. It shows the laptop, which is almost always plugged in, switching between battery and AC. I also remember ages ago seeing the typically blue light showing full charge turning red at times. Guessing the laptop's had some issues for a while now, and the two beeps are just getting frequent enough to register in my memory.

The weird thing is that power usage over the last three days shows the battery capacity remaining is consistently at 121%. That's...not normal. Does the standard advice apply here, where you either hit the battery reset and/or recalibrate the battery? That percentage makes me worry I might be risking a battery explosion with this on my lap.

Wear level with hwinfo shows 0% (48264 mWh). I've had the laptop for 1.5 yrs.

The 121% thing disappeared with a battery reset, but I'm still getting beeping. My computer is on constantly, plugged in. I periodically restart, but it's very rare that I fully power down. batteryreport shows it's still switching from AC to battery, despite being plugged in.

I'm thinking I need to replace the CMOS battery from what I can find online - I've had a couple of issues the past couple of days where the system time is out of sync. I'm used to doing cell phone repairs, but I don't do much with laptops besides replace screens for people. So, if you think there's something else I should check prior to opening this up and checking the voltage, please let me know.

Is the CMOS battery just a 2032, 3V, nonrechargeable lithium battery? Is there a better brand to look for? Would like to have a replacement on hand before I open up the laptop to check the old one.

    Obrigada!
  • Sometimes, just disconnecting the lithium battery and the rtc battery can solve the problem that causes the system time and date delay. Here's how to disassemble the laptop:
