Nitro 5 AN515-55 inbuilt speakers and aux output not working

I noticed recently that the speakers and the aux out on my Nitro 5 weren't working. Windows seems to think that the speakers are working just fine, but no sound comes out, even on the highest volume setting. The same goes for the aux out. Bluetooth and USB audio both work fine though.

I don't know how long the speakers haven't been working for because my regular headphones are Bluetooth. I know for a fact that the speakers were working about a month and a half ago, when my father borrowed the laptop.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Realtek audio drivers with no luck.

I even downloaded and manually reinstalled the audio drivers from the Acer support page with no success.

I downloaded the Audio Console driver from the Acer support site, but I don't know how to install it, as there is no executable file in the folder.

I have gone through pretty much every audio setting I could find in Windows Settings and Control panel to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I forgot I had this thread going. I reinstalled windows and that fixed the issue.

I am getting the exact same issue with mine. New Nitro 5 AN515-55 bought from Acer UK last December. I can sometimes get it to work again when I reinstall an older Realtek Audio driver. But for some reason, it loses sound from speakers after a while!

I'm pretty sure that the contacts are fine inside my laptop. I've opened it up to have a look an made sure the only connector I could see that was obviously for the speaker was all the way on. No luck at all. At this point, I feel like it is not a hardware problem.

I agree that i don't think it's a hardware issue.

The only errors I've been able to get are small things, such as 'error playing test sound' in speaker properties, or when I try to record Stereo Mix (Realtek(R) Audio) through Audacity, I get an error that says "Recorded audio was lost at the labeled locations". I'm sure that it has something to do with the Realtek audio systems, because everything labeled Realtek does not work as an audio output (although the microphone array does work).
