Hi, i am planning to buy nvme m.2 ssd for my laptop, but i heard that nvme will use 4 pcie lanes, and this will cause the gpu to only use 8 pcie lanes instead of 16 and will impact the performance of the gpu. Just want to clarify whether it is true and if it is should i just buy sata instead?

I have a intel i5 8300h, and intel hm370 motherboard chipset

The GPU is not configured to use all available PCIe lanes (max. 16 supported by the CPU) therefore the statement above is not true. The GPU has 8 lanes dedicated anyway.
