Hello, i am having issues with the sound on my chromebook, the audio is no longer working for some reason. When i go into the tools, the sounds is not mute however it shows the sound turned down all the way, i can go in to tools and turn the volume up however it still does not produce sound, plus when i close the tool and reopen it it again shows the audio turned all the way down.

any ideas what is wrong?

The other thing i found weird was withint he tools, when click on the right arrow it pulls up the audio settings, however no settings display, just a blank pop-up box.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Uninstall the "High Definition Audio Device" in Device Manager > Sound video and game controller then reboot the laptop and let windows reinstall the sound driver if not then go to the Acer "Drivers and Manuals" for this driver.

I understand it is a chromebook computer..

Try to do a chrome reset on your chromebook
    open chrome
click on three dots on top right corner
    click on settings
Scroll down - go to advanced
click on restore setting to default
you will see reset settings - cancel
    click on reset settings
Close the chrome and open it  should work fine..

If it is still not working..

We need to do a power wash on your chrome book.

    Restart the chromebook.

On the login screen please don’t type the password.

Hold the Ctrl key + shift key + alt key on keyboard

It will show “Reset this pc”

Click on power wash and continue..

Please understand it will clear the local and user settings..

    Please complete the final setup..

Connnect to wifi and type the wifi password

Login to chromebook with your regular password

    It should work fine ..

I just learned something else, although the audio/speaker doesnt work through the computer itself nor earphones when plug in, the audio will connect and play through bluetooth devices such as wireless earbuds or a wireless speaker.

    Seams odd??
