Please visit the website  given below .  There is an option to  "start your scan "  and " select your computer " .   Please chose the options and try it.   It will show you the memory and SSD’s details and the best upgrade options for you..

    https://www.crucial.com/

It will tell you what you currently have and what you can add for memory and SSD's.

Note:  I5 is a good processor and you also have a nvidia geforce GTX745 display card too.   Please upgrade the ram and check..

The specification for your computer are

    Maximum memory:
    32GB
    Slots:
    4 (2 banks of 2)

uglypills, this is just a bit of advice for you and this is only my opinion so take it as you like? I've done many upgrades and updates of computers for many years. First, you can upgrade many components of your Predator G3-605 desktop but it depends on what level you want to go to and what budget you have? As your OEM CPU of the i5-4440 can be upgraded to the likes of the Core i7-4790T which is 94% upgradable but will give you a minimal performance upgrade of about 33.5% relative performance to your i5-4440 which is just one aspect of an upgrade as with the G3-605 the spinner HDD speed is 3.0 Gb/s and so you need to use its mSATA-3 drive capabilities as a boot drive that can run at 6.0 Gb/s for any substantial performance improvement. Also you need to upgrade the RAM to max capacity of 24GB at DDR3-1600MHz or even DDR3-1866MHz (check with the Crucial Scan as recommended above) also you need to upgrade the GPU and the PSU (which depends what you have as an OEM PSU as the 300W will have to be upgraded but the 500W PSU will probably be adequate) and suitable for these top upgrade? All this performance increase works as a package and not just individual component(s) upgrades. To upgrade any computer you have to take two things into considerations and that is the following:

    1) Is it worth the money to upgrade this 4th Gen computer instead of buying a new one?

    2) Is the upgrade performance of this computer worth what you want to use this computer for in the future and/or will it meet your future usage needs?

IMO the max that you can upgrade your Predator G3-605 to is with the following upgraded components (btw and also upgrade the BIOS to the last version P11.C1 dated 2014/10/28) :

    1. CPU – From your OEM to the max spec Core i7-4790T also upgrade the OEM CPU fan to a better Socket 1150 cooling fan system.

    2. HDD – You can upgrade from your OEM spinner HDD which is a SATA-2 3.0 Gb/s to a 2.5” SDD SATA-2 at 3.0 Gb/s as an SSD drive is quicker but its virtually impossible to buy as you can only buy the SATA-3 6.0 Gb/s that will run at SATA-2 max speeds of 3.0 Gb/s which is the problem that you will have, unless, you can get a SATA-2 at 3.0Gb/s drive?

    3. mSATA-3 SSD – Depends on what you have OEM and what capacity mSATA-3 drive you have, if even you have one? The recommended Acer max mSATA-3 drives fitted by Acer (at the time of release of the G3-605) are the type below but now and if you can still get mSATA-3 drives? The capacity of mSATA-3 SSD's has been raised up to 1TB (try Samsung Electronics with their 850 EVO mSATA SSD's) that has the same performance as an M.2 2280 B&M end key type drive or the now only available 2.5" SSD SATA-3 6.0 Gb/s drives which will give you better performance as a boot drive and use your OEM spinner HDD 3.0 Gb/s as a slave drive. As there are bigger capacity mSATA drives than the 128GB below:

    • 128GB KINGSTON SSD...128GB..(BUY-ACER)..mSATA III...(S8FM06.7)...RBU-SMS100S3/128GA.KN.12807. 008..29.85*50.8mm.IDLE=0.08W.HF.LEAD-FREE..- Acer part #: KN.12807.008
    • 128GB INTEL SSD MLC 120GB - mSATA-3 SSDMCEAC120B3A.(LLLI)...KN.1200N.002..29.86 *50.8mm.IDLE=0.25W.HF.LEAD-FREE – Acer part#” KN.1200N.002

    4. RAM – The total memory that can be fitted to the G3-605 is 24GB into its 4x slots of either DDR3-1600MHz pr 1333MHz SDRAM memory with the below capacities configurations per slots and I've included some examples of the type of memory below:

    • 8GB DDR3-1600MHz SDRAM - KINGSTON - IC SDRAM MODULE.8G. (512M*8*16). (BUY ACER).WBGA.D5128EETBPGGBU.DDR3L. 1600MHZ.ACR16D3LU1KBG/8G...KN.8GB07.004...LEAD-FREE (RoHS/HF). – Acer part#: KN.8GB07.004
    • 4GB DD3-1600MHz SDEAM - KINGSTON - IC SDRAM MODULE.4G.(512M*8*8). (BUY-ACER).WBGA.D5128EETBPGGBU.DDR3L. 1600MHZ.ACR16D3LU1KBG/4G...KN.4GB07.006

    5. PSU – The OEM fitted to the G3-605 Is an ATX_12V Auxiliary 4-pin power connector and Standard 12-pin ATX power connector of either the following models:

    • POWER.500W.115/230V...FSP500-50AAGA. (BUY ACER).W/SAFETY(5000M)...SINGLE-RAIL, GOLD..DC.50018.001..LEAD-FREE.FSP – Acer part #: DC.50018.001
    • POWER.300W.100-127/220-240V~7/3.5A...DPS-300AB-82 A.(BUY-ACER).W/SAFETY (5000M).PFC..SINGLE RAIL,BRONZE,V.01..DC.30019.001..LEAD-FREE.DELTA – Acer part #:DC.30019.001

    6. GPU - The OEM GPU card (if you have one?) was fitted into a PCIe16X1 Slot see below:

    • Upgrade your OEM GPU from whatever your OEM GPU graphics card is? Which the top card fitted by Acer to the Predator G3-605 were either the GeForce GTX770-2GB GDDR5 or the RADEON HD8760-2GB GDDR5 so update your OEM card to a new and the best type of GPU card that I recommend of either the GeForce GTX 1660Ti that will give you 150% more graphics performance or the GeForce RTX 2060 that will give you 200% more performance from the top performance of the Acer fitted OEM cards.

You also have 2x 2.0 PCIe1X1~2 Slots - The PCIe x1 slots is fully compliant to the PCI Express Base Specification revision 2.0 so you can fit other cards that comply with this revision also.

Note: Before installing an add-on card, check the documentation for the card carefully. If the card is not Plug and Play, you may have to manually configure the card before installation.

Good luck and hope this helps you out!
