XV340CK Input switching Headaches

I have an Acer Nitro XV340CK and I have a work MacBook that I have a USB-C Dock for. My primary rig is hooked up via DP1, and my MacBook is connected to HDMI1.

One would think that if "Auto Source" is on, then plugging a new device with video into the monitor would cause the monitor to switch to the new feed. You might even think you could simply tap or press and hold the input selection button to quickly switch to the new source. But alas, no.

If I want to put my laptop onto my monitor I have to either hibernate my computer BEFORE plugging in my work computer, or I plug in my work computer and then have to fully navigate through the menu to manually change the input. The input list isn't even filtered by inputs that HAVE a signal.

Why do I need to hit 5 buttons every time I need to pop onto my work computer? Is there ANY way to fix this. Did I miss a setting? Is there a firmware update that corrects this horrendous oversight? Or should I return the monitor?
