My original laptop came with WS PC SN520 NVMe ssd - M.2 2280-S3-B-M - 128 GB.  I purchased a Samsung, Model:  MZ-N6E500 with similar specifications.  It also has the M.2 2280-B-M (not sure what the S3 means in Western Digital).  This is 512 GB drive.  However, I am installing Win10 home/pro and when attempting to install Win10 cannot find the drivers for it when attempting to install.  The firmware when booting the laptops mentions that this is a SATA drive and the UEF cannot detect it.  What internal memory SSD should I use?

Mechanik what is your laptops exact model number? Have you got Win-10 installed on the old M.2 128GB drive? As to swap an M.2 boot drive from the OEM M.2 like your 128GB M.2 boot drive that has a Win-10 OS on it onto the new 512GB M.2 drive you need to clone the original 128GB M.2 drive onto the new 512GB M.2 drive, this is a very simple and easy process and your 512GB M.2 will work 100% and exactly like your old M.2 boot drive.

If your laptop has provisions for 2x M.2 drives then use the other M.2 slot and put the new 512GB into that slot and use Samsung’s very easy cloning software called “Data Migration” to do that, if you don’t then the easiest way is to get a “USB 3.0 to mSATA + NGFF M.2 (B Key) SSD 2 in 1 Combo Adapter(see caption below, btw you can use this adaptor as an external storage adaptor for your old 128GB drive to store data) then use this adaptor with the “Samsung Data Migration” software to clone your old 128GB M.2 drive to put your existing Win-10 software to the new 512GB drive so that it can function as a bootdrive.

Your new Samsung 860 EVO SATA III M.2 500GB

It's worth noting that the drive you purchased is SATA, not NVMe, so will be slower than the original drive. The original is NVMe x2 I believe. We need to know the specs of your system, from the model number, to determine if another x2 is best of if your system supports an x4 drive, which would be much faster.
