USB-C docking station not detecting external monitor. Aspire R5-471T.

Hi, I have a Acer Aspire R5-471T. The USB-C docking station is not detecting my external monitor. Also, it worked for a day on my friend's Dell docking station (the first time I ever used it) now it will not work again. Last, if I plug directly into the HDMI port it works and all of my keyboards and mouse work with the docking station just not the monitor .

I have tried downloading the display link. 
I have tried uninstalling in hardware settings. 
I have tried to detect. 
It has power because my monitor will come out of rest mode but then go right back. 

What am I missing or need to do?

Hi @ Dapice135

nplug the power cord from the dock (the circular plug that usually has a blue light indicator). Open the laptop and log in to the workstation with your NetID credentials. Plug the power cord back into the back of the docking station. Reconnect the laptop USB-C connector back into the dock (always do this last).
