edited July 2021 in Predator Laptops
the green colored LEDs seem to have been malfunctioned in the zone 2 (middle) of the backlit keyboard, when setting backlit colors through the predatorsense app, the green light does not comes on in zone 2, as a consequence, when switched to white color, it shows pink because only red and blue LEDs work (because rgb code for white is 255 for all and here green is off/0). Model : PH315-53-7104 purchased on 20 June 2021. I think this is a hardware issue but please tell how can I confirm this and how much time would the repair take if I give it to acer service center.

Thread was edited to add model name to the title

First, try uninstalling and reinstalling the predator. Second, try resetting the battery: turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter, press the power button for thirty seconds and leave the laptop off for thirty minutes, and see if the problem still occurs.

@HITESH07 theres no way to say how much time would a repair center take to diagnose and fix it but i really recommend you to contact the nearest acer service center and send it in if none of the above solutions worked its most probably a hardware issue with the keyboard leds good luck :)

i reinstalled predatorsense app and now the green light in zone 2 is back but it is very dim on green only and when I select white it is still pinkish. i shown it to the acer technician and he said that the leds might have gone bad but as it is a minor issue so cope with it. Because replacing the keyboard requires the motherboard to be separated from the chassis and it would affect the build quality and also take 4-5 days.

I would like to know about your experience with keyboard leds. how long do they last and do the middle ones go bad earlier because that area gets heated often. in my laptop the middle area (F key to enter)usually stays hot to touch, the trackpad which is just below stays cool
    thank you

  • I would try to disconnect and reconnect the backlit keyboard, to see if it solves the problem:
