Usually a copy and a none OEM model battery from China do falsely state and sell higher capacity mAh batteries which I don’t recommend as they don’t work and are of a far inferior quality and give you problems to what the original Acer OEM batteries are, always use the OEM battery specified by Acer which is designed and made for your laptop. As battery problems could be related to your charger adaptor and/or internal circuitries that are either not functioning and/or are burned out or on the way to burning out and don’t function 100% hence and why your battery is not charged 100%. Do a Battery Calibration of your battery first and see if that revives your battery, if not then there is other problems that could be causing this problem.

Also, which Aspire 3 model are you talking about? As there are many Aspire 3 models and most have different batteries so its very hard to give you any accurate advice if you don't specify correctly. For instance the A315-55G has an  - LGC AC14B1 Prismatic 3S1P LGC 3 cell 3246 mAh and its Acer part No: KT.0030G.017

    Hi Rssss,

No you can't upgrade the battery but you can replace a new one.
