Picture but no sound on HDMI connected monitor Aspire E1-572

1.  When I connect a TV to my Acer Aspire E1-572 Windows 10 laptop using HDMI I get picture but no sound on the connected TV.

I have the laptop set to Duplicate so both displays do the same thing.  All tests are done with the HDMI cable plugged in and TV on.  The TV is OK as sound works when I connect it via HDMI to my desktop PC.  It isn't the cable.

2.  Sound works fine on the laptop speakers

3.  Device manager > Sound, video and game controllers ..., has two items below it, both called High Definition Audio Device.  The top one has a yellow triangle showing something is wrong.  When I double click it the general tab says "This device cannot start (Code 10)".  When I try to update the driver it says the latest driver is installed (Microsoft 09/05/2020 10.0.19041.264)

4.  Start > Settings > System > Sound > Choose your output device ..., only has one device and not two devices.  It is not showing the HDMI device.

5.  Windows 10 is a brand new build from Microsoft as I installed a SSD.  sfc /scannow found no problems.

My thoughts are either the hardware has failed or the driver is bad.  I searched the Acer site for an HDMI driver but found nothing.

All suggestions will be greatfully received.

Right click and uninstall the yellow warning driver. Exit Device Manager without trying to reinstall anything. Shut down Windows normally. Turn the machine back on and let Windows re-detect the hardware and auto reinstall a fresh copy of the driver. Check Device  Manager again for any red or yellow warnings. If none, test the HDMI sound output again.

Thank you.  While that did not fix it it gave me enough ideas to do more digging and solve it.
I used Double Driver to check all the information on the drivers.  The laptop speakers are Realtek and have a Realtek driver.  It showed the HDMI device but not the manufacturer.
I uninstalled the HDMI Microsoft driver yet again as you suggested.  I tried using the Realtek driver but I wasn't surprised when it disn't work.
I then tried again to Update the HDMI driver and it said the best one (Microsoft) was being used.  However it did say that there may be better? other? drivers avaiaable on Windows Update.
I had tried Windows Update several times and each time it said it had checked today and I was fully up to date.  However, painful experience has taught me two things when dealing with Microsoft.  Don't believe anything they say and when what they do say doesn't work, try it again.
So, I ran Windows Update yet one more time.  Bingo!  This time it offerred me Intel(R) Corporation - MEDIA - 5/10/2016 12:00:00 AM - 6.16.0.3197  as an Optional update and I chose to install it.  Sound now works on the TV.
Microsoft was obviously either completely incompetent or lieing through its corporate teeth - it's so difficult to decide which - when it was repeatedly telling me the best driver was installed coz it wasn't.  Quelle surprise.
It does suggest that the HDMI audio device is an integral part of the Intel processor although I guess it could be a separate Intel chip.

I wouldn't have got there without your assistance - many thanks.

Heh-heh. Thanks for reporting back. But more updates to come! So I suggest that you make sure System Protection is turned on in Control Panel's restore point app. Just in case another update messes things up again.    :) Jack E/NJ

sorry for the delay.  THe monitor is either an LG TV or a Panasonic TV with HDMI inputs.  The HDMI work from other devices.

Does this mean the  HDMI sound output isn't working again?
