Just purchased an A515-43 with Windows 10 Home installed
I do not have a product key for it
Am I able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free ?
I tried the Micro$oft account - not listed as one of my products
Other people have suggested I purchase a copy
I am not independently wealthy yet
So am asking if there is a way......

    Hey @PENicholson

If your new Acer computer's windows isn't activated, go to the the activation page under Settings > Update and security > Activation. Then click on Troubleshoot button on that page itself under the option to upgrade, that should activate your Windows 10 Home, You may have to purchase a copy of W10 Pro if you're trying to switch. All Acer products has windows activated when you're connected to internet, if there is an issue or interruption in the flow of setup, you may troubleshoot to activate windows.

Pro requires you to buy a separate license it's not a free upgrade unless you already have a free key associated with your Microsoft account

My desktop came bundled with Windows 10 Pro
I can not locate the key
in MS account it does not show
    Laptop bought with 10 Home
I can't run Pro on both?
What happened to running it on two machines like was allowed with Win 3.11 through 8?

In the past it's let you bit your technically not allowed, as it's one key per system. To get at the key you can run from CMD

    wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

Which will dump the key to the screen, if you flick it to the laptop it may then de-activate the desktop
