Aspire 5 A517-52 Drivers not working

Hello,

I recently bought an Aspire 5 A517-52. Because I will be using the laptop for work, I had to wipe the Windows 10 Home edition and install Windows 10 Enterprise version. Now my problem is that when I tried to install the drivers from the official Acer page, they do not work. My biggest problems are sound and graphic card drivers, as I currently have no sound and only the basic windows GPU driver. For example, on the official web page there is no driver for Iris Xe Graphics and the sound drivers simply do not work. Any suggestions how to solve my issues?

I would suggest you to visit the Intel site and download the Intel Driver and Support Assistant program and run it. You should get the drivers back.
Iris Xe graphics is from Intel, so the program should detect and requesting you to install the drivers for it.

I tried the drivers from the Intel site and they also showed me an error (something about not having the right processor).
I later found out the main problem was that my windows was not updated and did not support DCH drivers (and looks like most of the drivers were DCH).
After I updated Windows the audio drivers from the Acer page started to work and the Iris drivers from the Intel page did also run normally.
    Thank you for help!

Seems like your problem is resolved , very good.

I believe I just run into problem somewhat similar to yours.

Previously, I purchased three Win 10 Pro licenses and used one so far. My Acer TC-885-UA91 desktop has the Win 10 Home already. To use one of my unused licenses, I decided to install one Win 10 Pro to another M.2 NVMe SSD by an adapter to the x16 slot with this desktop. Hopefully I can use the Pro version creating VM environment by Hyper V and eventually allowing me to use 32-bit version for older software / games that cannot be run even under Compatible Mode.

After Win 10 activation and installation, I found out that the product key used gave me the Enterprise version instead of the Pro version, a mistake by the vendor obviously. Generally, I should not have any complain as Enterprise version is more powerful and more expensive. However, dual-monitor capabilities that are O.K. with Home version cannot be activated with Enterprise version. Whenever I requested to detect the dual-monitors, it says it only detected one monitor.

That must be the drivers or the Intel programs taking control of the graphics instead of Win 10. As what I suggested you to do, I downloaded and run Intel Driver and Support Assistant and Acer Care Center and made sure Win 10 updates on, everything up to date. Whatever I did, there are still two questionable items under Device Manager.

     They are:
    Base System Devices
    PCI Simple Communications Controller

Operations with this Enterprise version seemed normal other than the dual-monitor capability missing. Now, my TC-885-UA91 is doing dual-booting every time it boots up, but I set the Home version as the default.  Still working on it. Maybe I have to post a question here later and see the experts here can help.
