Hi everyone, the CPU fan in my predator helios 300 G3-572-74DV has stopped working. My laptop is 3 years old and does not have any warranty on it. I loosely followed this post and opened the fan casing cleaned it and put it back. The fan still does not seem to work. I found that the gpu fan was moving easily but the cpu one was having a hard time to move. Currently, I am thinking of ordering replacement fan, battery (the battery wear is around 24%) and lower base (the plastic base is starting to break) so that I can make this laptop work longer (3-4 years more) . Can someone tell me if these parts are the right ones to order (I live in the US)? I usually order stuff from newegg when it comes to computer related stuff. Are there any other trusted websites that ship within US?

I switched cpu and gpu fans to see if there was an issue with the port. Seems to me that the problem is with the fan. I will replace the fan and apply new thermal paste and put the results here.

I've encountered this issue once less than 2 months into owning my Acer Predator Helios 300, and just now same fan seized up on me, I plan to contact tech support, escalate the tech request to purchase a replacement areoblade fan directly, the first time the issue popped up they RMA-ed me a fan right away, I'd suggest contacting support about a replacement fan if you haven't tried this yet.

@turatark the OP's laptop its from 2017 (same as mine bought in 2018) its out of warranty for years now only has 1 year ITW unless u buy extra extended in the ITW time frame for all those still under warranty do not try to fix it yourself if you have warranty seals/stickers you will void it by breaking them if you dont have any feel free to try it yourself but make sure you dont damage anything in the process or it will also void the warranty for anything user damaged :)

@AngryManXIII how did it went did u got it fixed ?

MY Acer Predator Helios PH315-52 was purchased in 2019, is a slightly newer model, and well aside from you spouting some considerable misinformation about warranty stickers (look up the 1975 Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to better inform yourself on this) you mostly seem to push less than useful platitudes to people seeking actual solutions.
I have to ask what actual contribution you've offered me here, yes I'm a new user to this forum but even with that factor trying to "scare" me with this misinformation about voiding my warranty is rude. .  to say the least. I offered my personal experience with a similar situation to the OP, and you replied to me with repeated information already provided in the OP-post, useless shilling of a service that is most likely not helpful to the situation and as stated previously misinformation that is hazardous to anyone on the forum.

@AngryManXIII I'm Curios what the Motor Stator and cirut to the fan that stopped working looks like I looked at mine, cleaned it up (with alcohol and very soft scrubbing) and got the resistance to drop down something like 80% less than when the fan started making weird noises and for the most part the wierd noises are gone, I find this to be a temporary fix because I have a replacement motor on the way to me after contacting Acer support, then reaching out to their after warranty parts supplier, once i have that replacement fan I plan to fiddle with the old one using a breadboard testing each component and see if there is a fault on the control board of it the Windings on the Stator need to be redone, I'll post about my findings once i have any

turatark every country has their own warranty policies they are all different the manufacturers have to adjust to all of them for ex in the US its not allowed to put warranty stickers its the right to repair act in the UK some have some havent those who dont have like mine you have the right to pen and upgrade it will not be voided but those who have it will definitely will even it its the shop sicker they will refuse warranty so be aware and very careful when it comes to void or not void warranty also im not spouting anything you are the one who should inform yourself of the warranty policies applied by the manufacturer/countries and sellers/shops its all valid that act you are referring to me its irrelevant so if you want to give proper advice please do otherwise please dont give bad advices and disinform everyone else i have nothing else to say about this argument have a good day :)

Im not an acer employee also all Aces are normal users like yourself who give their own free time voluntarily to be here to help everyone the best way we can/know no one is getting paid anything to do this if you dont appreciate it thats a shame its your loss someone else will also you havent said which model u had from which year u just said i have a helios 300 i i guess we need to guess which one u have and my advice to anyone either if they have stickers or not if its under warranty (not the OP's case here) always send it back its the proper action to take.

    Regards

@AngryManXIII here are the part numbers for the fans but you can use both delta plastic ones on cpu/dgpu they are cheaper and easy to find on aliexpress etc as long as u repaste it with a good thermal paste like kryonaut or similar the aeroblades are hard most probably only acer could sell them as they are patented by acer good luck :)
