MY WIFI IS ACTING LIKE CUJO.

After the last update from Microsoft, my WiFi is acting like poltergeist.  Sometimes it is connected, sometimes it disconnects, then it connects again, then sometimes I have to manually go into the available connections section and re-connect - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.  Then there are times that I get the error message I've included with this email.  And other times, my wifi network isn't even listed in the available connections tree.  It is so bizarre......!!  When my WiFi is connected,  it will disconnect after about 10 minutes - then the process starts all over.  This is really frustrating.  What can I do to have my laptop stay connected to the Internet like it used to - like it should.  Thank you.

    Try windows x
    go to device manager
    expand network adapter
Right click on wifi adapter - uninstall
    restart the computer.

If it is still not working properly

    Go to website - support.acer.com
    chose your country
type the snid or chose the model no
    go to drivers
    Install the wireless driver

Before installing the wireless driver go to device manager - uninstall the wireless driver.    Without restarting the computer - try to install the wireless driver from acer support website.

Okay, first of all, thank you so much for your response.  It's comforting to know that there are people out there for us......

1).  I went on to the Acer website that you directed me to, to see how easy this process would be before I started it.  I entered my SNID, S/N, and Model (all in separate searches), and each time I was informed that they do not exist and are not found.

2).  I found out that the manufacturer date of this laptop is 11/2001.

3).  So then, I opened my device manager to find my WiFi adapter.  In the attachment below, you can see what I found.  The first two entries are the WiFi adapters - I am assuming.  Which one should I pick to uninstall?  Or both of them?

I noticed while reading some of the comments that I am, most assuredly, not the only one that has/is had/having problems - and it appears all the issues have started after one of Microsoft's illustrious updates/upgrades.

Thanks again for your response.  Looking forward to talking to you again.
