Hello, i’m kind of confused about the variety types of SSD and HDD i could buy for my laptop.

I don’t know what kind of those intern hard disks i should buy, i know the difference btw SSD & HDD. Although i don’t know from which manufacturer i should buy. Can you please explain which HDD (since i want HDD) i could buy, list me some amazon products i could get specifically for my laptop.

What is the difference between the small, thin shaped SSD and the wide ones? You can see the Nitro 5 has 1 slot of HDD and 2 for SSD. But is it possible to place SSD in the HDD slot ?

First of all install the "HWiNFO64" and see all the hardware specs of your OEM hardware and of your 2.5" and M.2 hard drives and the RAM spec (for the RAM you can also use CPUz) so that you know what hardware you have installed OEM? With your all your hard drives (M.2 and 2.5" SSD and spinner HDD) remember that the windows format rules apply with capacities which means that an MBR/Legacy format can only handle capacities of up to and max of 2TB while GPT/UEFI format can handle capacity drives larger than 2TB. Your A515-55 RAM and SSD M.2 specs are:

Hard Disk Drive (AVL components) specs are:
Type 2.5" HDD's and type 2.5" SSD drives their max "Fast data transfer rate" should not be greater than 6.0 GB/sec"

Solid State Drive (AVL components) specs and types are:

Type M.2 "M key" and "B&M key" edge connectors these drives "Fast data transfer rate" should not be greater than 3000 MB/s which is what is recommended by Acer with a min and max of the type "PCIe Gen3 x2" has and the max of 3000MB/s of the "PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4".  These are some of the types of M.2 drives that are recommended by Acer for your Nitro 5 AN515-55:

    M.2 drives at PCIe Gen3 x2 (B&M edge connector)

    256GB - KINGSTON RBU-SNS8154P3/256G J1 at

    256GB - SANDISK SDAPNUW-256G-1014

    512GB - KINGSTON RBU-SNS8154P3/512G

    512GB - SANDISK SDAPNUW-512G-101

    M.2 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 (M-Key edge connector)

    128GB - SAMSUNG MZVLQ128HBHQ-00000 @ 3000 MB/s

    1TB - Intel® 660p SSDPEKNW010T8 @ 1800 MB/s
