I just took my new Acer Aspire 5 out of the box and plugged it into the electricity. I pressed the on button but nothing at all happens. Is it charging? How will I know?

Please check the lights on the side of the computer.    Orange light indicates it is charging.    Blue indicates charging is full.    Please check whether the charger is connected properly on the power outlet and as well as on the computer side.   Connect the charger gently on the laptop side.    Try to use a different power outlet and check.   Try to bypass the surge protector and check it.    After connecting the charger you can see the light indicator on the side of the laptop.    Press the power button and the computer will turn on.    It will load the windows.
