Nitro 5 (Nitro AN515-55) USB C Port not Recognizing my Monitor

Hi there,
I have recently bought a Nitro 5 (Nitro AN515-55), and so far I'm loving it!
However, I was frustrated that it could not recognize my second monitor through the USB-C port (using a hub).
whenever I connect the hub I get this message

the other ports in the hub (2 USB 3.0's) work fine, but the HDMI port is not recognized.

all the similar issues that I've seen posted here were because the USB-C port was Gen 1, but I made sure mine is Gen 2

this is really frustrating as my 2 monitors connected without any problems on my older Legion Y520, but not on this brand-new high-end Nitro 5.
Could anyone help with this?

Look like model doesn’t support video output through its USB, but check this thread https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/610378/does-my-acer-nitro-5-an515-55-support-video-output-via-usb-c

Hi waroudi,

It is a USB C 3.1 Gen 1 port

These ports do not have PCIE lanes and therefore do not support a direct > monitor type setup.

Note: Even though a USB C Gen 1 is capable of faster speeds than a typical USB port, it will still offer some latency if you were to use it for example: in gaming.
