So my laptop GPU was making strange noises so decided not to ignore it and take it back to Acer to check if it could be repaired or just check it out as it was still under warranty.

I have been emailing them often and there's a lot of things they said that are troubling me.

They said they would replace the cooling module, which is understandable because the problem was with GPU fan but they also said that they would replace the main board which I think is the motherboard which bothers me because laptop CPU is soldered and GPU too I think.

The laptop is Acer nitro 5 AN515-54.

I read somewhere that replacing motherboard could be very difficult which led me to wonder if Acer AFRICA technicians could be ripping me off with components of poor quality that are not from my original nitro 5 which I have them.

It's been  more a month since the laptop was at repair centre and they have been giving me excuses so m getting worried and crazy.

If u have any advice on what I should do please let me know

Forgive me but I don't know much about internal compliance so

Just_Willo if you sent your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 to an official Acer outlet in your area then I wouldn’t be worried, as Acer does not repair and/or solder chips and circuits, as Acer only replaces faulty components with new ones. It could be that Acer are finding it hard to acquire and get a new motherboard for your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 so just wait and be patient. Also and as Acer has said, that they have replaced your fans and heatsink and also replaced your motherboard which must signify that your fans are also faulty and your GPU also is faulty, which means that Acer are fulfilling their warranty commitments “BE PATIENT” as what Acer is doing to your faulty laptop is repairing it the best way that there is, you can’t get better than getting new parts as you are definitely not being ripped off!
