CB282K cannot be dimmd

I have trouble dimming my CB282K monitor. I have it set to lowest setting (ie 1) and it is still very bright.  Attached picture shows both my macbook pro and the CB282K set to their respectively lowest setting, It is clear that the CB282K is far brighter. I've tried some macOS apps that can dim the CB282K but the relative brightness issue does not get fixed. That is when the CB282K is at the brightness I want, the macbook pro display is way too dark.

Any suggestion how to fix this would be great. Thanks

Unplug the power cable and other cables from monitor.   Hold the power button for 1 min.   Connect all the cables and check.    Try to do restore settings to defaults and then try to dim your monitor.     It might alto be a cable issue.   Try to use an alternative cable and check.
