Aspire 5 (A515-56-70NX) problem installing Windows 10

Alright so I've been having problems installing Windows on my new Aspire 5, it came with Windows Home but I want to do a clean install plus upgrade to Pro (so I can switch later on to 11 Pro).

If I try to do it from Inside Windows 10 the installation fails and rolls back.

If I try to do it from the UEFI Bios -> USB the laptop doesn't detect an SSD.

First thing I read on support forums was to disable secure boot, didn't work for installing on top of Windows 10 nor from UEFI Bios, second thing I read was to change HDD to ATA/SATA in Bios by going to Main then pressing CTRL + S but it doesn't show the option, I just get an extra option to change the touchpad stuff.

Anyone has an idea? Also I need it to not affect the UEFI-GPT Installation as I want to upgrade to Windows 11 on release. Thanks a lot!

Nevermind, disabled Intel WMD Controller fixed the no detection issue.

You will need to leave Secure boot and UEFI on if you want to upgade to 11

, in the UEFI are there any options for intel VMD controller after you press cntrl+s on main? also i asume at the moment you are trying to do it from inside windows using the media creation tool?

If so leave it on! (It saves power and makes the drive faster) what you need to do is head to the intel software download page at ( https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30314/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Driver-Installation-Software-with-Intel-Optane-Memory-10th-and-11th-Gen-Platforms- ) and download the "F6flpy-x64 (Intel® VMD).zip" driver.

Unzip it and put it on your USB stick, and then when you are installing the OS and you select the drive (and its missing) whack F6 and select the driver you dropped onto the USB, it should then re scan and detect the drive

You dont have to re install to get windows 10 pro though, if you link the key, or you head to start -> activation settings you can hit change product key and upgrade to pro without re installing, or if you are yet to buy it, buy it from the windows store page
