How do you know which bios update is correct TC-885-UA92 ?

    It can be tough to diagnose when the freeze is intermittent. Did Windows run updates after the clean install? Does he have any peripherals installed that might have dodgy drivers? Can he run without freezing in the BIOS screen for long enough to rule out hardware? It's still most likely software in my view...

    I did a clean install from a USB from Microsoft/windows 10. After clean install (but before updating or loading anything software) it would not freeze up or at least it would while sitting there idle for hours. I let Windows 10 update itself and had a couple freeze ups but once it was fully updated it seemed ok. Then when the drivers started updating it caused major problems specifically 2 Intel drivers dated 1968 and 1970. I ended up down loading drivers from Acer and this seemed to help.

    For the most part it is working ok now. The WD SSHD diagnostics program will lock it up even though it is the latest updated edition. I do not have a lot of programs/software on it - norton, firefox, office 2019, nordvpn, chrome.

    I am still messing with it some, but it is livable at the moment.
