Hello Everybody. My acer swift 3 (SF314-58) laptop is slower than a 2004 pentium 4. It is a core i3 10th generation but it is really slow to start, really slow to open apps, slow in general to do anything. I am having a heck of a time with it. I am flabbergasted. A celeron is doing much better than this. I guess if its windows 10 home that's behind all this or is it the core i3 10th bla bla bla that's doing this.

If i screen record this laptop's performance you can get astonished. I get even more astonished when i really need to work but it wants to update or it does not want to shutdown because it wants to update by any means before shutting down.

Can anyone help please? Thanks

There are so many things that can slow a computer down, I suggest not trying to fix everything until you find what the biggest issues are currently. Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor to help see what is going on. The most likely culprits right off hand are the antivirus, the HDD (if one is installed) and the memory. So, what is your configuration right now? We know you have the 10th gen i3 processor and 4GB of memory. What size is your drive? IIRC if you have a 1TB or 2TB drive, it's a HDD, if 128GB, 256GB or 512GB it's a SSD. Did you keep the trial version of the antivirus, or uninstall that to use a different one? If you kept the trial, did you purchase the license when the trial ran out? Running one of the fuller featured AVs after the trial has completed without purchase will really, really slow things down.
In general, your computer will be at it's fastest when it is running off a SSD, with enough free memory to never have to swap out to disk and when there is little running in the background.
