I think that I can read the faded Windows 7 product key but how can I be sure?

I never upgraded to Windows 10 and want to do so now. I believe that it requires the product key but some of the digits/letters are a little faded. Is there a way that I can try it out without any problems?

It doesn't require the key, the key for W7 is stored in the Registry or in the EFI and that's where it looks for it.

Before upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10  please make sure that your computer is compatible for running windows 10 .    Visit the website - support.acer.com - chose your country - chose your model - go to drivers - check whether the drivers are available for windows 10.    If you try to install windows 10 on a old computer which is not compatible you will not be able to use the computer in a efficient manner.    Rather than installing windows 10 on a incompatible computer better buy a new computer with latest preinstalled windows 10 on it.
