Acer Swift 3 i5 8th Gen won't turn on

Hi, I have Acer Swift 3 i5 8th Gen laptop , It was working fine and works properly ,I shut down it that night and put it inside the bag, in next morning when I get back it inside the bag and turned it on, it won't. I don't know what happened with it . There is no way to pull back it battery or reset power supply without disassemble it. Another problem is , when I plugged it , it wont charging also, no charging light blinking. All thing happened just after that night , and I am sure it didn't get any physical damage that night. If anyone have any solution regarding this please reply me. Thanks.

Try to do power drain,

1. Shutdown the unit.
2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds.

Most of the getting are getting fixed by doing a power drain and bios defaults.

Without opening the laptop we will try to help you.. Kindly follow the steps given below..

Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices or any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down. On the bottom of the laptop, you can find a pin hole. It is a tiny hole. You can a find a battery symbol indicator next to the hole. It is like a + and - sign symbol as though somebody is trying to shift the battery out. Insert the pin on to the hole for 30 seconds. Remove the pin. Flip the laptop. Connect the charger cable, turn on the computer. Only on laptops where the battery is inbuilt you can find the battery reset hole on the back of laptop.

If you dont find a pin hole on the back of laptop then you might be using removable battery. There is no need to unscrew anything to remove the battery. Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices and any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down. On the bottom of the laptop, please look at the top or bottom depending on the way you look at it. You can find a long door. It is a battery removable door. Just below that you can find a latch. If you move the latch you can remove the battery door. Once the battery is removed, flip the laptop. Open the top cover, press and hold the power button for 1 minute. Connect the battery back on the back of computer. Connect the charger cable back and then turn on the computer.

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear. Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

It might also be the issue with power outlet, charger cable or battery. Try to use the charger in a different outlet on a different room and check it. Try to bypass the surge protector if possible and check it. Try to use the computer without the charger and check it ( Assuming that the battery is not drained out )

Acer-William there is pin hole on the back of the laptop, I did same what step you suggested but it wont turn on still. I connected power cable many other sockets it same everywhere , I think there is only option to go laptop repaired technician, it delayed now because of this pandemic issues. Thanks for your help.

Hi @Easwar thanks for your help, but these steps didnt work in my case.

Please let us kn ow what the technician finds. I believe we're all thinking it's something to do with the battery, but that's never sure.
