Why does my laptop frequently restart when in standby? - Acer Spin 5

I have an Acer Spin 5. I often leave my laptop in standby mode because I know I'll be coming back to use it in the near future. For some reason, the laptop restarts when placed into standby mode for more than 2 minutes. It's extremely annoying as I usually have multiple apps open when the laptop has been put to sleep. I then have to open all the apps, find all the documents and webpages, etc. This only happens when the laptop is unplugged. Why does it keep doing this and how can I fix it? I have tried resetting the battery with a pin underneath the laptop but to no avail.

# Try to update the battery driver

1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
2. Choose the device manager option.
3. Go with the option battery.
4. Under the title battery.

5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

How long you are facing this issue. I am suspecting the issue with the battery. Please follow the steps given below and check it.

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear. Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

Also double check your power settings. I was looking at a computer yesterday that had a screen saver that kicked in at 1 minute, a sleep setting of 30 minutes, a shutdown setting of 30 minutes and a turn off HDD setting of 10 minutes. The first and last one caused no end of heartaches... With the HDD turned off it had real issues with waking up.

I have tried this option and it comes back with a popup to say that the best drives are installed. I have subsequently run a check on the logs and seen that my SD card was giving a fwe problems. Touch wood, since removing it, I haven't had an issue

I have had a look at the power settings and the only thing that may be an issue was that it was set to hibernate at 180 minutes of inactivity. Even if this was the issue, my problem happens usually a mere five minutes after going onto standby. But as mentioned in a previous comment, the issue seems to be resolved with the removal of the SD card. Will report back here if not

If the issue persists after the removal of my SD card, I will try this fix. Thanks!
