Hi
My laptop fell with an usb cable plugged, and it broke the USB3 connector (JUSB1 tag on the motherboard, on the left side).
Can anybody give me a manufacturer and reference, to order this connector, in order to change it ? Or can I order it from Acer service ?
Best regards

JUSB1 is a common thru-hole soldered connector that can be made by different component manufacturers. It should have a manufacturer's part no. stamped on it that can be purchased from either Mouser or DigiKey. If there are no numbers evident, you can search their on-line image catalogs to try to match your part.

My laptop is no longer under warranty. I can't get trhough the registration procedure for the repair center : when I type my postal code (in France), the software on the server hangs, can't find the list of corresponding cities, I suppose.
I don't find the online image catalog : if somebody can direct me to it, thanks.
You can see on the image that I attached to my post that the number stamped on the JUSB1 connector is 170425

An online product catalog is also call a product list, so you have to click on products button. For example, at Digikey there are hundreds of USB connectors that you can search for the one you need. For example, this Ampenol connector is one USB product of many that they offer. If you have trouble searching, you can contact them online to ask for a replacement with your image.

I could get in touch with the local service, through telephone and then email. They don't sell the connector as a spare part but only the motherboard : woops, something like $600. I'm waiting for their answer to see if they can find the reference of the connector. Else, an electronic parts dealer told me to disassemble completely the motherboard from plastic enclosure, take a photo of the solder face, and with that he could find a compatible one. It means that I will have to disassemble / reassemble twice : once to take the photo, a second time to repair.

Another way to id the part is through the motherboard schematic which usually cost about $15-20. It might be best to do that instead of disassembling the machine too many times, which in itself, is risky.
