I keep having random FPS drops on my Acer Nitro Model AN515-53, recently added an extra ram to see if it would help but didn't change anything.

GPU: GTX 1050
CPU: i5-8300H 2.3GHz
RAM: Used to be 8Gb, now 24 Gb

Using 12GB+12GB ram stick?and both ram specs are matching like voltage, CL rate, frequency, size, DDR4?
Also Check if your CPU/GPU temperatures going more than 90°C

One of the rams is 8 and the other is 16, ordered the 16 one by mistake instead of another 8, they are both DDR4, same frequency 2666 MHz, the 16 GB Ram's Voltage is 1.2v and the CL is 19, not sure about the stock ram's voltage and CL rate. As for the temperatures I've noticed the CPU fan turning off randomly while gaming, usually for a couple of minutes at a time.

1)Download and run userbenchmark then post result page link here.
2)Also i think you need to sell one ram stick because both ram specs need to match for best dual channel performance.
(size, frequency, voltage, Cl rate, DDR4)
You can check ram specs from CPU-Z

couldnt figure out how to make it use the actual gpu sorry, also found out that the dmw.exe had a memory leak and fixed it but don't think it helped.

Did you manage to fix it? I'm also having the same random fps drop issue
