Hey there!
I bought my Acer aspire 7 just a few weeks ago and today I noticed that there's a gap when i close the lid. The base of laptop is also bent a little but no cracks or signs of damage. It didn't fall or anything like that, I'm using it carefully. Can anyone tell me if this is ia manufacturing defect? If yes then should i order a replacement? Is it harmful in the long run?

A gap must be present in all laptops to avoid keyboad keys and other projections on the base to press against lid LCD screen. This is normal.

But don't they have those little rubber pads for that?

Yes. Small pads or plastic nibs/bumps either on the top of the lid or base of the keyboard/trackpad cover. What does the gap look like on the other side? Jack E/NJ

It's the same on both sides and front. The corners of screen rest on the base with gap in the middle. They look like an arch.

There are dozens of A7 models, Here's a side view of the A715-75G. What's your model? I'll post what it's supposed to look like. Jack E/NJ

In mine, corners are touching the base instead of rubber pads

Possible cosmetic production changes to the case. If it was mine and it otherwise seems to run OK, I would ignore it. But it's not mine. It's yours. If you're not happy with it, then I suggest that you should return it to the vendor immediately for a refund  before the vendor's return policy period expires. Usually only a few weeks. After that you have to arrange for ACER warranty service which usually doesn't address case cosmetics or blemishes, only that the machine is functioning OK.
