Hi,

is there any way where i can find out about the max freq that my motherboard supports when it comes to RAM?
Problem is that pre build RAM has max 3200Mhz but is capped on 2666Mhz.
PC model is DG.E1ZEC.00G.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Kronqzz, you can change the N50-610’s mobo but there could be a limit on what peripherals you can connect from your OEM case to the new mobo that you buy. The OEM N50-610 mobo Acer part #: DB.E1Z11.001 is an individually shaped Acer mobo (see caption below) so its best to measure your case if it can accommodate an ATX mobo of 12 inch x 9.6 inch or a mATX of 9.6 inches x 9.6 inches so that you can fit an OEM ATX or a microATX mobo into your OEM case?

Also, you have to be aware of what your N50-610 came with as OEM it has a mobo with an Intel H470 chipset that supports the Intel Comet Lake-S processors Socket LGA 1200 that you have, takes max 16GB of DDR4-2666 MHz and came with either an NVIDIA GTX 1650 or GTX 1660 or RTX 2060 GPU and the PSU specs of either a 300W or a 500W that you have. So consider all this as that is how you should swap your OEM mobo to a new one so that you can use all the old components from your N50-610 which also and depends on your budget. Btw, I prefer the Asus TUF range of mobos but, that is my preference only!

As brummyfan2 has told you your N50-610 mobo and its CPU the i5-10400 can't support 3200MHz memory it only supports max DDR4-2666Mhz, you can't increase that as that is their specs! And as allot of motherboard manufacturers also tell you and its this, below is for the ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI) specs:

CPU - Build in Intel® Socket 1200 for 10th Gen Intel® Core™, Pentium® Gold and Celeron® Processors. Supports Intel® 14 nm CPU. Supports Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0**

    Memory

    4 x DIMM, Max. 128GB, DDR4 4600(O.C)/4500(O.C)/4400(O.C)/4266(O.C.)/4133(O.C.)/4000(O.C.)/3866(O.C.)/3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
    Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

    OptiMem II
    * 10th Gen Intel® Core™i9/i7 CPUs support 2933/2800/2666/2400/2133 natively.

    Hi,
I think the CPU restricts the frequency to 2666MHz because this model normally comes with 2666MHz modules, you may have got 3200MHz from factory because the particular modules might have been available at the time of assembly.

Hi, thx for reply but i dont think its limited by CPU. Thats just guaranteed max Mhz. Acer manufactured motherboards support only 2666Mhz max? I guess the only option is to try to get hands on edited bios with xmp profiles?

No problem, could you please post the details of CPU and the model number of memory modules.

    Hi,
Yes, your CPU i5-10400 can support the memory frequency up to .
2666MHz, HWiNFO64 reports the specification of the memory,  the actual speed of the memory is shown in Speccy(2x1330), I have also attached some links for other users having the same speed with this memory in this model.
